Paneer Bhurji meaning scrambled cottage cheese is a quick, healthy, easy to make and rich in protein recipe that makes a good side dish for your breakfast. I usually make Paneer Bhurji or kalakand laddu with home made crumbled cottage cheese/paneer, a couple of easy ways to put the crumbled cheese into use. The Paneer Bhurji can also be wrapped up in roti’s or stuffed in bread which would make a great snack/ lunch box recipe. Ingredients to make Paneer Bhurji|Scrambled cottage cheese recipe
- Crumbled cottage cheese/paneer: One cup
- Onion: 1 nicely chopped
- Tomato: 1 small nicely chopped
- Green chili: 1 Chopped
- Ginger garlic paste: 1/2 a teaspoon
- Red chili powder: 1/2 a teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder: 1/2 a teaspoon
- Salt: To taste
- Garam Masala: 1/4 of a teaspoon
- Chopped Coriander leaves: 1/4 of a cup
Method to make Paneer Bhurji:
Take a pan and heat some oil. To the hot oil add ginger garlic paste and cook for few seconds.
To the pan now add and saute chopped green chilis and onions till they are translucent.
Once the onions are nice and brown add in the nicely chopped tomatoes and red chili powder. Cook till the tomatoes turn mushy.
To the pan now add turmeric powder and sprinkle some water and give a good stir.
To the tomato onion mix now add the crumbled paneer/cottage cheese and add salt to taste. The paneer releases water at this stage, cook till it starts oozing oil.
Once you add salt to taste add the garam masala and freshly chopped coriander leaves.
