Quarantined and bored? Here are a few things to watchout!
Snacking/Eating – Do not eat just because you are bored. Do not snack while binging on netflix.
Instead: Next time when you just had a meal and yet crave something crunchy or sweet, drink up a whole glass of water and wait for 5 – 10minutes. Chances are you are only thirsty and not hungry. Give this a thought. If the desire still persists make an effort to eat consciously.
Sleeping super late: We are quarantined right now, you do not have to wake up early the next day and show up to work or gym or anywhere that you usually used to. Yet, sleeping too late cant be stated okay! Sleeping at odd time/sleeping less results –
1. Weakens the Immune System – oh boy! you dont want to do this to yourself now!
2. Disturbs the gut health.
3. Slows down the thinking ability – Aka makes you DUMB
4. Leaves you cranky
5. Creates Cravings
Instead: Set up a routine. Finish the chores early. Make sleep a priority because everything else can wait.
Waking up late: If this is how you think you are making up for the lost sleep the night before, you are doing it wrong.
Because you still wake up feeling tired, with a cloudy head.
The urge to take a nap only spikes.
Headaches just wont go and the digestive system does not want to wake up too! FYI: No number of daytime sleep stands up to the benefits you missed sleeping too late.
Instead: Wake up early. This will help you fall asleep early the following night. and thus you can set up a new routine.
Also, you can lend a hand over the chores and help your mom or do something productive.
Unlimited Scrolling: We get it, you are bored. And yet it would be great if you give yourself a break from unlimited scrolling on the social media.
Trust me, you wont miss a thing!
Instead: Spend more time with your loved ones and keep yourself engaged with a hobby/activity.
Or How about some ME time? You can give yourself a luxury DIY pedicure/manicure or the face pack that you often think about but never make time for?
Or can actually organise your wardrobe and things that you care about.
Baking: Everybody is baking, even the celebrities are – why not me? Its fine if you have an occassion. Unless, you are just going to end up eating a whole lot of sugar, oil and refined flour. So…think before you Bake!
So next time you think you are bored this quaratine, be thankful for being able to be in a position to feel so. Get up and do something productive and useful 🙂
